As a result, Viridor seeks a credible Head of Commercial who will develop, lead and manage the commercial strategy for the Energy division, ensuring commercial priorities are effectively delivered, and business development activity is in line with the Viridor growth strategy.

Reporting to the MD for Viridor’s Energy division, the Head of Commercial will be part of the Energy senior leadership team and will play a key role in driving progressive, commercial relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Critical to the success of the individual will be the ability to achieve results by embracing the role of leader to a dispersed team that focuses on Development, ERF Contracts, and Stock Control.

To be considered, the Head of Commercial will possess the following attributes:

  • A demonstrable track record of successfully delivering the commercial and business development strategy for a large organisation
  • Knowledge of Energy related development and business growth opportunities as well as JV and Energy process operations
  • Highly numerate with proven ability to lead complex commercial negotiations with an uncompromising attention to detail
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship management skills, highly credible and articulate with great presence and gravitas
  • Knowledge of procurement and supply chain / inventory management
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to lead and motivate, with a natural style when mentoring and coaching team members
  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent
  • Full driving licence
