PQ Specialist (Contract)

Currently recruiting for a PQ Specialist to work for a large automotive client.

The role will involve:

* Collaboration with the Design Studio creative teams on upstream exterior & interior Design Quality development including engineering & manufacturing development support from concept to model freeze
* Collaboration with styling, engineering, manufacturing & suppliers to identify, develop and implement countermeasures that resolve design & PQ concern items - both upstream and current vehicles
* Collaboration with Product Planning functions regarding vehicle specifications that influence the level of PQ
* Ability to interrogate, understand and implement the voice of the customer as well as future customer forecasting
* Research and analyse competitive trends and consumer/market trends
* Value analysis and adherence to budget management targets

* Digital & physical vehicle evaluation to identify potential Design Quality concerns for all aspects of vehicle construction, materials or usability
* Design Quality proposal development from idea to production level

* Material / part appearance definition and documentation to deliver Design Intent
* Design specification & concept sheet evaluation to validate robustness of Design Intent for styling proposals

* Variation control development and co-approval throughout the whole development process
* Attend and support or lead project meetings to ensure understanding that the project direction is clear & communicating with internal / external stakeholders where necessary

Qualifications/ Skills

A degree in Industrial Design / Product Design or equivalent
* Understanding of the principles of automotive development, manufacturing and vehicle assembly
* Experience of a wide range of component design and feasibility analysis for the automotive industry
* Experience within an automotive design studio environment is mandatory
