Mechanical Maintenance Fitter

Acorn is recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter, working on a Pallet Manufacturing and Maintenance site in Coventry.
This is a start-up operation and a very exciting opportunity for the right candidate to start, develop, and run with this manufacturing facility that work with some of the biggest names in the UK.
The Role:
Working in a fast moving production environment You will be carrying out mechanical preventative maintenance duties across the site, attending breakdowns, carrying out overhauls on machinery, completing remedial correctives and improving the plants availability and reliability.
Responsibilities include:
* Working to a high standard of Health and Safety
* Making improvements across the site to improve production output
* Some welding and fabrication
* General factory mechanical maintenance
* Working with industrial automation equipment
* Site PPM's
* Mechanical thermal imaging
* Updating site Maintenance systems (SharePoint)
* Monitor and control spare parts needed to ensure production up time.
* Other jobs outside of this scope of work such as facilities maintenance, FLT maintenance
Knowledge, skills and experience.
You should be able to demonstrate the following:
Essential
* Engineering Background / Experience - Mechanical
* Health and Safety Qualification such as IOSH
* A flexible approach to work within a rapidly changing environment.
* Be driven and have the desire to take on the training offered by the company to assist in your role.
* Team player, with good communication skills.
* Well-organised and conscious with a flexible approach.
* Good analytical and numerical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
* Focus on Customer Service.
* Experience of disciplinary, grievance and absence matters, an ability to take a proactive approach to poor performance / capability.
Maintenance and repair of
* Chain conveyors
* Power hydraulics
* Pneumatics controls
* Pneumatic tools
* Bearings
* Couplings
* Gearboxes
* Chain drives
* Site LEV
* Compressors
Job Skills and Requirements:
* Apprentice trained
* City & Guilds/NVQ level 3/HNC
* Electrical knowledge
* Driving licence
* IT skills Excel/word etc.
Salary £30k to £35k per annum depending on experience
