Financial Controller (Contract)

Job Title: Financial Controller

Location: Newbury

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum FTE (pro-rated to £36,000 per annum)

Job type: Part-Time, Maternity Cover, 12 - 18 Month Contract

Working Hours: 24 hours per week but can be flexible

We are looking for a talented, hardworking Finance professional to join our team. This is your chance to utilise your financial knowledge and experience in a busy and varied role. You must have a strong sense of ownership, initiative and commercial awareness.

About The Role:

• Production of monthly Management Accounts and financial statements
• Manage prepayments and accruals
• Cash flow management
• Produce and manage budgets
• Process and manage payroll and pension scheme
• Oversee all tax and regulatory/compliance issues
• Maintain and manage all property and insurance cover
• Manage the annual audit process, co-ordinating with external auditors
• Line management of Finance Assistant

About you:

• At least 3 years previous experience in a similar role, preferably in SME
• Must be qualified - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or AAT
• Excellent communication skills and ability to talk in a non-financial manner
• Strong commercial awareness and inquisitive mindset
• Self motivated and keen to use own initiative to get things done
• Actively considers the wider picture and makes sound decisions
• Naturally analytical and enjoys problem solving
• Excellent on Excel and I.T confident and able to adapt to new system
