The Engineering & Facilities Technician role:

Reporting to the Production Services Manager The Engineering & Facilities Technician will be responsible for supporting both the Facilities and Engineering function across our site in Ystrad Mynach. The Engineering Facilities Technician will also support the implementation and promotion of lean and continuous improvement activities throughout the business.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out building and site maintenance work
  • Support engineering activities such as general machine maintenance and some jig / fixture making
  • To support and develop continuous improvement of current process to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Compile and support the writing of relevant documentation including risk assessments, production work instructions to ensure safe working practices
  • Maintain a record of all documentation, including drawings, sketches, calculations, records etc. ensuring a full history of process and product evolution is documented
  • Ability to oversee or support in process modifications and tooling change overs
  • Implement repair and modification work to site facilities and equipment including electrical wiring and service installation work

The ideal Engineering & Facilities Technician:

  • Good level of dexterity
  • Mechanical Engineering experience – use of hand / power tools, lathes and milling machines preferred but not essential
  • Strong practical and problem solving ability
  • Conversant with Microsoft Office
  • Good practical abilities and broad knowledge of carpentry, plumbing and advantage
