Graduate Energy Markets Data Analyst – Power Portfolio Management

We are currently looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Graduate to join our 2020 Cohort as a Graduate Energy Markets Data Analyst.

Based in Rochester, Kent, our Graduate Energy Markets Data Analyst will support the delivery on a number of strategic data and systems projects across the Power Portfolio Management team.

This role will support the development of an energy markets database which can deliver accurate reporting and insightful market analysis, where you will also learn about all areas of the PPM team’s activities, providing insights on data processes and systems, making observations for improvements where possible.

You will also provide support to the Director with cross-functional projects and collaboration projects across Viridor and support a number of projects on improving how energy trade data is captured, stored and managed.

As our new Graduate Energy Markets Data Analyst, you’ll have achieved your degree by October 2020, preferably in Environmental, Science or Data based subjects, demonstrating your analytical ability also.  You’ll also have a demonstrable understanding of energy, renewables and carbon markets, as well as a high-level knowledge of the recycling and waste management sector.

The successful Graduate Energy Markets Data Analyst will demonstrate:

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels internally and externally.
• Self-motivation, resilience and dynamic member of our team able to work and deliver under pressure.
• Strong relationship building skills with an ability to influence where required.
• Strong IT and Microsoft Office skills along with the ability to learn new systems and report effectively and accurately.

Advanced data manipulation and analysis skills would be preferable but not essential, as would knowledge of the waste management industry.

There will be a requirement to travel to our other sites across the UK, therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.
