Fantastic opportunity with our leading Electronics client is seeking a skilled Software and IT Engineer to join a talented, agile team. Our client is seeking an experienced and successful IT professional with a proven track record, to lead the IT department in the development and expansion of current IT capability

Salary: Up to £45,000

Location: Watford

As a Software and IT Engineer your role will be split between Software Development for embedded systems and control units (70%) and IT support looking after firewalls, data and company IT infrastructure (30%). Based in Watford, this is a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you will continuously develop your skillset and will be well-rewarded for your successes and innovations.

Software Development (70%)

*Software Development for new products.
*Development of company's internal operational, logistics and CRM systems: (VB, SQL)
*Development of embedded software and control platforms for the company's next generation of new, innovative switchgear products. (C#, VB)
*Development of embedded control software for our microelectronic products ( e.g. to PIC)
*Development of control systems for the Company's automated test and assembly lines for manufacture of new products (C#, VB)

Network, Server and Mobile Device Management (30%)

*The company is currently Microsoft oriented (Windows Server: 2008, 2012 and Hyper V; Exchange Server; SQL Server; IIS) however is considering moving several core server systems to Linux for the future.
*Dell Sonicwall/NSA Firewalls
*Symantec Enterprise Vault (email archiving system); Symantec Endpoint Protection
*Responsible for around 30 client machines (Windows 7 - 10)
*Maintaining the Company's network servers, infrastructure and telecoms equipment
